Hoops are here

Just looking through the high school tournament brackets today. Means that the busiest part of the year is here for our sports department. Starting on Monday, we'll cover at least 45 high school basketball games over the next 34 days. This does not include Cavs, Ohio State and the College of Wooster, which will also make their way to the air. WQKT sports started broadcasting this type of high school basketball mania over two decades ago. We're able to do this because of two reasons. First, we have announcers that sacrifice a ton of personal time to broadcast the games. We love it on most occasions but sometimes you wonder where you are after five different gyms on consecutive nights. Second reason, our wonderful sponsors. You might here it alot, but it's true that without them, there is no way we would broadcast this many games. We're lucky to have community support so we can bring March Madness to our listeners. Again this year, we will broadcast all four Girls State Championship games and all 12 games of the Boys State Tournament. There is only one other radio station in the state that can say that. Something we are proud of and enjoy doing each and every year. The road to Columbus begins Monday...hope you enjoy the ride.

I just wanted to say thanks for the great work you do covering the Scots! Seeing as how Wooster will be on the road this weekend down in NC, that's a bit too far for me to make the roadie, but at least I can count on tuning in on my computer for hopefully a couple of more Scots victories!
