Transport for Christ, a ministry to the trucking industry since 1951, will be holding its 24th annual Truck Show and Benefit Auction June 20 and 21. Friday events begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Kidron Auction grounds in Kidron. Enjoy delicious pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and homemade ice cream while getting a close-up view of trucks and their drivers.
The Parade of Lights will begin at approximately 7:45 p.m. Trucks led by the Transport for Christ Mobile Chapel will convoy from Kidron through Mt. Hope and Berlin and return to Mt. Hope, where music will be provided by John Miller Family shortly after 8:30 p.m. at the facilities of Wayne-Dalton.
Saturday’s activities begin at 7 a.m. in Mt. Hope with a pancake and sausage breakfast.
Lunch is available at 11 a.m. with barbecue chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs and homemade ice cream with the benefit auction beginning at noon. Enjoy viewing all the trucks and walking through the mobile chapel on display. The chapel is only one of 28 chapels ministering in truck plazas throughout the United States, with six additional across Canada plus two in Russia and one in Zambia, Africa.
There will be supervised activities for the kids throughout the day with jump houses, face painting, etc.
