There is a bus service from Wooster and Shreve to Columbus each day. Although unfamiliar to many, GoBus provides that service as Ohio’s only Rural Intercity Bus Service. Wayne County Transportation Coalition will provide the opportunity to learn more about that service on Tuesday, April 25 when GoBus staff will present the program and answer questions from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Wooster Community Center, located at 241 Bever Street in Wooster.
Representatives from KFH Consulting will also be on hand to gather public feedback about the current service and input about starting another route between Wooster and Cleveland.
One of the GoBus deluxe 50-passenger motor coaches will also be on site to tour and see the free wireless internet, outlets at every seat, extra leg room, on-board restroom, and seat belts at every seat. These buses are also wheelchair-accessible.
GoBus is an intercity transportation service which offers round trips three times daily from Athens to Columbus, twice daily from Athens to Cincinnati, Athens to Cleveland, Columbus to Wooster, and once daily from Columbus to Van Wert. A one-way ticket between Wooster and Columbus costs $18.
This event is being hosted by the Wayne County Transportation Coalition, an ad hoc committee of the Wayne County Housing Coalition. For more information about the GoBus meeting on April 25th, please contact Leslie Baus, Wayne County Mobility Coordinator with Community Action Wayne/Medina, at 330-264-8677 or at email@example.com.
