“The Enchanted Toy Shop” and other dances
Partially underwritten and supported by the Laura B. Frick Charitable Trust, seventy-one Ballet Wooster dance students ages 4-18, along with three guest artists, will grace the stage on April 22 and 23 at the Wooster High School Performing Arts Center as they present an original ballet, “The Enchanted Toy Shop,” and six other contemporary pieces.
Under the artistic direction of Brenda Schwinn and Stephanie Sustar, with assistance from Veronica Nolletti, this enchanting story is full of whimsical characters and has the charm of an animated fairy tale with scene after scene of delightful divertissements, complete with beautiful costumes, backdrops, and complementary sets.
In addition to “The Enchanted Toy Shop,” Ballet Wooster’s advanced dancers will perform original dances in a variety of genres choreographed by instructors Stephanie Sustar, Veronica Nolletti, and Ethan Ralston. With cutting-edge and modern music, some from Jane Eyre and Pirates of the Caribbean, these different pieces challenge Ballet Wooster students and offer an exciting display for the audience.
