A 14-year-old boy from Millersburg was killed Friday when he was struck by a vehicle while riding his e-bike. The incident happened Friday morning at around 8:30 AM at the intersection of State Route 39 and Township Road 401 in Holmes County’s Walnut Creek Township. According to Holmes County Sheriff Tim Zimmerly, the boy was riding his bike westbound on the berm of State Route 39 when he was struck by a car driven by a 19-year-old man who was eastbound and went left of center. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene by Holmes County EMS. State Route 39 was closed for several hours, as the crash remains under investigation.
