In an effort to offset nearly $70 million in lost revenue, due to the Covid-19, the University of Akron is eliminating six of its 11 colleges. The University’s president spoke about the plan on Monday, but failed to say what would remain open and what would close. That announcement is expected in the coming days. Locally, we received a update from the Orrville campus of Wayne College today and while consideration is being given to establishing a different administrative structure for their academic units, there are no plans to close Wayne College.
