The Ohio State Buckeyes used a late second half surge to overcome a fiesty Penn State team 83-79. Ohio State led 43-39 at the half, leading much of the way in the first half, but Penn State came out playing better in the second half and eventually took the lead and made the Buckeyes pla catch-up. The Buckeyes were down 79- 77 with about a minute and a half to go, but made six straight free throws to win the game 83-79.

Ohio State was 20 for 21 from the free throw line in the win.

The Buckeyes improved to 13-4 and 7-4 in the Big Ten with the win. The Buckeyes were led by E.J. Liddell who had 22 points, while Justice Sueing pitched in 13.
