Alabama played a nearly pefect game, and won its 18th National title, with a dominatiing 52-24 victory over Ohio State. The Crimson Tide didn’t punt the ball until just before halftime, as the Ohio State Defens ehad no answers for the Alabama offensive juggernaut of Mac Jones, Najee Harris and Devante Smith.

Smith finished the game with12 catches for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Buckeyes offense went three and out on their first drive but then stayed stride for stride with the Tide before stalling in the second and getting a field goal, and went into halftime down 35-17. The Buckeyes only scored seven points in the second half. Justin Fields went 17/33 for 194 yards passing with one touchdown, and added 67 yards on the ground. Master Teague finished with 15 carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns for the Buckeyes,

The Buckeyes lost RB Trey Sermon with a shoulder injury on the first play of the game, and the team was already without defensive line starters Tommy Togiai, and Tyreke Evans. The Buckeyes finish the season at 7-1.
