The Aldi store on Akron Road in Wooster re-opened to shoppers yesterday.  Aldi closed the location to improve with a new spacious design using environmentally friendly materials.

The renovation of the store was part of a company-wide initiative to remodel 1,300 Aldi locations nationwide. New features include ample refrigeration to accommodate the expanded fresh and convenient food selection, open ceilings and natural lighting.

The reopening was not met with the usual ribbon cutting as an effort to reduce a crowd from gathering during COVID-19.   Store hours will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. The store will open early at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays to allow vulnerable customers to do their shopping 30 minutes before the normal opening time.
