Los Angeles Angeles general manager Perry Minasian stated on Monday that superstar pitcher and hitter Shohei Ohtani will not be traded this offseason.
Minasian stated that Ohtani will not be traded “at all” and will in fact begin the 2023 season with the Angels.
Ohtani is set to receive $30 million next season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2024.
The 2021 American League MVP averaged a 2.33 ERA and 219 strikeouts with a 15-9 record this past season, while also hitting a .273 batting average with 34 homeruns and 95 runs-batted-in.
