A pair of local cemeteries have been awarded state grants to help with their upkeep. The Dalton Cemetery was given $850, which will be used to clean some of the cemetery’s headstones, while Sugar Creek Township’s Arnold Cemetery is getting $1,000 to repair and reset some of its headstones. The funds are being made available through the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Cemetery Grant Fund, which was established and signed into law two years ago. The program is funded with money from the state’s burial permit fee.
