Area unemployment rates continued to fall in the month of February. The latest numbers were released recently from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Wayne County saw a slight dip in unemployment, as the county went from 4.3% in January to 4.2% in February, but the number was still up from a year ago, when the unemployment rate in the county was 3.8%. Holmes County reported the lowest unemployment in the state, coming in at 3.1% in February, which matched the rate from January, and was actually a lower number than last year, which sat at 3.4% in February.
