Ashland buys land to help expand Wells Road

Ashland City Council approved a purchase of land this week to help with extending Wells Road. The city will purchase one acre of land for just over $25,000, with that land being used to connect Wells Road to U.S. 250. Ashland hopes that by extending Wells Road to 250, there will be five to ten more buildable sites in the industrial park along Wells Road, and would help encourage growth in the park. The extension project is set to cost $1.1 million, with the city already securing roughly $650,000 through state grants for the project.
