An Ashland couple were sentenced to probation on animal cruelty charges. Brian Kidd and Kimberly Zimmer were sentenced to five years of probation after 104 animals were recovered from their Jackson Township home in December. The animals included nearly 40 cats, two dogs and eight puppies. The pair will also have to pay over $7,500 to the Ashland County Humane Society to cover the expenses of caring for the animals. They will also have to undergo a mental health assessment and be subject to random inspections for the duration of their probation.
