Troopers in Ashland County are investigating a serious accident involving a car and motorcycle that occurred late Thursday Afternoon in Mifflin Township. According to the Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday when the motorcycle went left of center on Township Rd 1153 and struck a car head on. The driver of the motorcycle, 41 year-old Ricky Lane, sustained life-threatening injuries as we was not wearing a helmet. The passenger on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet and sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
