Ashland County shooting involving officer now under investigation

A shooting in Ashland County over the weekend involving a ranger from the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District is now under investigation.  The ranger was helping deputies track down and arrest a man suspected of trying to break into a home in the Perrysville area when the shooting occurred Sunday night.  According to the sheriff’s department, the suspect was shot after he tried to take a gun away from one of the deputies.  The man remains hospitalized in critical condition.  The names of the officers involved have yet to be released.
