The Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center’s board of education has approved an agreement to purchase the Ashland County Service Center building, which is next door to the school, for $500,000. The board also voted to approve a lease agreement, that will allow the county’s health department and emergency management agency to remain in the facility, until the former Rite-Aid building on Claremont Avenue is renovated and ready to house those two agencies.
The board’s actions, which finalized the sale, are part of the career center’s $43 million facility upgrade plan. Voters approved a levy last November to upgrade and remodel the 49-year-old Career Center building and renovate the Service Center building.
