An Ashland man who was sentenced last year in Medina County for obstructing official business during a traffic stop had his conviction upheld in appeals court. Brian Gannon of Ashland was pulled over last year in Medina Township when the car he was driving was found to be stolen. During the stop Gannon refused to leave his vehicle while also shouting profanities at police. Gannon was removed by police from the vehicle, with the aid of a K9 unit. Gannon was sentenced to 6 months for the incident, but appealed saying the evidence suggested it was the police who delayed his stop. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the sentence against Gannon this week.
