Ashland University announced this week that the university will begin the phase out of 20 majors over the next few years. The announcement comes as the school faces financial difficulties which have been prolonged due to the coronavirus pandemic. Among the courses being cut will be majors in French, Spanish, Geology, Physics, Economics and Theatre. Students currently enrolled for those degrees will be able to obtain their degree, and students who enroll in those courses this fall will be the final students to enroll in those majors. The university did announce that even though these courses are being phased out, no full time faculty cuts are being made.
