The city of Ashland has ordered a new 100-foot ladder truck for its fire department.  Unfortunately, it will take about two years before the $1.5 million truck is delivered.  In the meantime, the city will continue to use its 50-foot ladder truck, which is more than 25 years old.  The decision to get a newer and taller truck stems in part from the fact that many of the city’s buildings are now simply too tall for the 50-foot ladder truck to reach.
