Authorities have identified the man who was shot and killed after a chase with police in Loudonville over the weekend. The Ashland County Coroner’s office identified the man as 29 year-old Joseph Stanley of Elyria. Stanley led police on a chase in Loudonville after fleeing the scene of a domestic dispute at Mohican Reservation campground in Loudonville Saturday. Stanley eventually stopped his vehicle and exited with a handgun before shots were fired. Stanley was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations is handling the investigation now, and it could take months to complete the full investigation into the incident.
