The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing their investigation into the death of a Baltic woman on Friday in Holmes County’s Paint Township. 72-year-old Maxine Hamlin was traveling northbound in her Jeep Compass on State Route 515 around 4:40am Friday, when she struck a pickup truck near U.S. Route 62. Authorities say that Hamlin failed to yield at a stop sign, before pulling into the path of the pickup truck, driven by a 20-year-old Millersburg man. Hamlin was pronounced dead at the scene, and her 33-year-old passenger was transported to an area hospital. The crash is the 7th fatal accident in Holmes County this year.
