Trustees in Wayne County’s Baughman Township have voted in favor of a resolution that contests the amount of money the county auditor said the East Wayne Joint Fire District owed the township after it withdrew from the district in 2019. The county auditor determined the fire district owed the township around $2,800, but the township believes the amount to be much greater than that. The resolution clears the way for the township to pursue legal action.
