The Bellville man facing charges over the death of a former Hillsdale grad will have one less charge to face. 29 year-old Jordan Skoog will no longer face murder charges in the shooting death of 19 year-old Austin Smiley last year. Skoog still faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, and a misdemeanor charge of using weapons while intoxicated. Skoog, as well as Smiley were intoxicated while handling a handgun when Smiley was shot in the head. Skoog’s trial will begin in April.
