The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Colorado Rockies at home on Wednesday by a final score of 4-1, snapping a two-game losing streak.

For Cleveland (12-13), designated hitter Josh Naylor got the Guardians on the board in the 1st inning with a two-run homerun, giving Cleveland a 2-0 lead. Later in the 4th inning, outfielder Oscar Gonzalez hit an RBI double to extend the Cleveland lead to 3-0. Finally in the 8th inning, outfielder Will Brennan grounded out but scored a run to give the Guardians a 4-1 lead and eventual win. Starting pitcher Tanner Bibee made his major league debut for the Guardians and got his first career win for going 5.2 innings, striking out eight batters and allowing six hits for one earned run.

For Colorado (8-18), the Rockies were held scoreless until the 6th inning, when outfielder Kris Bryant hit an RBI single to cut the Cleveland lead to 3-1 through six innings. Starting pitcher German Marquez suffered his second loss of the season for going 3.2 innings, striking out four batters and allowing six hits and one walk for three earned runs.

The Guardians will next be on the road to begin a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox on Friday, April 28th, with first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.
