Cleveland Browns linebacker Jacob Phillips will be sidelined indefinitely with a torn biceps, a source told The Athletic on Friday, confirming an ESPN report.
It’s a blow to the Browns defense as Phillips, who suffered the injury Thursday, was a key contributor in training camp. The Browns are banged up at the position with Sione Takitaki sustaining a hamstring injury Thursday and Mack Wilson limited by a shoulder injury. Anthony Walker also had knee issues earlier in training camp.
Hopes were high for Phillips’ sophomore season. The third-round pick in 2020 appeared in nine games as a rookie, starting in three, and recorded 25 tackles.
