The most fireworks the Browns produced on Sunday afternoon in their highly-anticipated home opener went off long before the game to alert fans to start making their way to FirstEnergy Stadium. Other than that — and a promising opening drive — the Browns offered little other than a whole lot of yellow flags on the field and that familiar opening-game feeling that Browns fans have known since back when Jeff Garcia suited up to play quarterback.

This was the bomb of bombs. After an offseason of hype and exclusive interviews and essays declaring the team has arrived, the Browns didn’t show up. They fell behind by 16 points early in the fourth quarter and then it somehow got worse. The Browns lost, 43-13.

The Browns finished the 18 penalties for 182 yards.
