From 24/7 Sports:

Last year’s ranking: No. 5
Big Ten ranking: No. 1

Three highest-rated signees/commits

  • Jack Sawyer, SDE, 6-5, 248, Pickerington, Ohio
  • Emeka Egbuka, WR, 6-1, 190, Steilacoom, Wash.
  • Donovan Jackson, OG, 6-4, 308, Bellaire, Texas

Good luck to anyone with hopes of knocking Ohio State off the Big Ten pedestal anytime soon. The Buckeyes are in such a groove right now on the recruiting trail that this year’s No. 2-ranked class may only be an appetizer for what’s to come in 2022. Ohio State brought in five, five-star prospects and 12 players in the nation’s top 100. It all starts with Sawyer, who Buckeyes fans are hoping turns into Chase Young 2.0. Sawyer, the nation’s No. 4-ranked recruit, is the third-highest rated strong-side defensive end prospect and the state of Ohio’s top recruit. Egbuka, meanwhile, is the nation’s top-rated receiver. For good measure, Ohio State also brought in the country’s highest-rated offensive guard in Donovan Jackson and running back with TreVeyon Henderson.
