The folks at Buehler’s recently presented a $38,000 check to the American Heart Association of Stark and Wayne Counties. The money was raised earlier this fall during a fundraising campaign called “Life is Why We Give”. As part of the campaign, Buehler’s customers purchased paper hearts for either $1, $3 or $5 and wrote messages on the hearts, which were then displayed on the store’s walls. According to Heart Association officials, stroke and heart disease claim more than 2,500 lives each year in Wayne and Stark counties.
