The explosion this week at a metal foundry near Bedford, in southeast Cuyahoga County, is likely to blame for a burning rubber smell that filled the air Monday afternoon in parts of Summit, Medina and Wayne counties.  The Wadsworth Police Department, which is roughly 30 miles south of the factory, reported many calls about the odor, while residents in Wooster also reported smelling it on Facebook.  Weather officials say wind gusts of up to 20 mph on Monday led to the smell spreading as far as it did.  The Ohio EPA said despite the unpleasant odor, residents in the Wooster area needn’t be concerned.
