Sam Burns won the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial with a 38-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole, beating top-ranked Scott Scheffler. Burns closed with a 5-under 65 to get to minus-9, then waited two hours in the clubhouse for the leaders to complete their rounds. Scheffler needed three clutch putts for a 72 just to get into the playoff matching 25-year-old standouts and close friends.
