A cattle transporter trailer caught fire near Ashland and Richland counties on Sunday night. According to the Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the northbound lane of I-71 at around 10 p.m. on Sunday night. Authorities say that the rear right tire of the trailer, which was hauling 37 cattle, was involved in the fire. As a result of the fire, two of the cattle are dead and the I-71 northbound lane was reduced to one lane for approximately four hours. No injuries were reported at the scene.
