The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Thursday night by a final score of 128-113, with a major headline being a scuffle between Cleveland guard Donovan Mitchell and Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks, which led to both getting ejected in the third quarter.
For Cleveland (32-22), guard Darius Garland led the team with a 32-point and 11-assist double-double performance. The big men for Cleveland, center Jarrett Allen and forward Evan Mobley, also put up double-double performances, with Allen going for 18 points and 11 rebounds and Mobley going for 17 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Cedi Osman also had a big day off the bench, scoring 21 points and hitting four three-pointers. Guard Donovan Mitchell scored only six points on 2-11 shooting prior to his ejection in the third quarter.
For Memphis (32-20), guard Desmond Bane scored a team-high 25 points, while All-Star guard Ja Morant scored 24 points while also grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Forward Santi Aldama posted a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Dillon Brooks scored nine points on 2-5 shooting prior to his ejection in the third quarter.
The Cavaliers will be on the road to take on the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, February 5th, with tip-off set for 5 p.m.
