The cause of a Christmas Day house fire in Lodi that claimed the life of one person remains under investigation. The fire broke out just before 5:30 pm on Sunday at a home in the 8500 block of Lafayette Road. According to fire officials, a passerby spotted flames coming from the home and quickly called 911. The person also reportedly banged on the home’s door but no one answered. Firefighters later located the victim’s body on the second floor of the home, where it is believed the fire began. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the victim.
