A case of Chronic Wasting Disease has been reported at a deer farm in Wayne County. According to the Ohio Department of Agriculture, a doe at the breeding facility tested positive for the disease, the first-ever confirmed case in Wayne County. Chronic Wasting Disease is a degenerative brain disease that affects white-tailed deer, mule deer and elk. The ODA is now conducting an investigation and developing a herd plan for the farm, which has yet to be publicly identified.
