The cities of Wooster and Orrville will each be electing new mayors later this year. After four terms in office, neither Bob Brenneman nor Dave Handwerk filed for re-election, meaning each city will have a new mayor for the first time in over a decade. In Wooster, city council president Mike Buytendyk and at-large councilman Bob Reynolds are running for the Republican mayoral spot in the May 2nd primary, while in Orrville, city councilman Darrell Mosley will square off against Matthew Plybon on the GOP side. The winner of each race will then run uncontested in November’s general election, as no Democrats in either city are choosing to run.
