ODOT is saying that the construction project at the intersection of Route 30 and State Route 89 in Ashland County will likely continue into October.  The project consists of converting the two-way stop-controlled intersection at Route 30 and 89 to a reduced conflict U-turn ( called a RCUT ), which includes closing the median at Route 89 and providing downstream median breaks on Route 30 for U-turns. Left turn and through movements from Route 89 would be accommodated at the U-turn locations on U.S. 30 and left turn movements from U.S. 30 to Route 89 also would also be made at the U-turns.  A similar construction project took place last year on State Route 585 near Doylestown involving Eastern Road.  Safety and better traffic flow are the reasons for the change.
