A Crestline man was sentenced to six months in jail in Ashland County on child abuse charges. Seth Whited was found guilty of child endangering, a third degree felony, and one count of unauthorized use of a computer or telecommunications device, a fifth degree felony. The child endangering charge stems from an incident in 2018 when Whited held a 15 month old under water for 15 seconds for soiling himself, while the other charge stems from Whited hacking into the Ashland City Schools computer network. Whited was also sentenced to four years of community control, and must pay over $1,700 to the boy’s family and over $3,500 to the Ashland City Schools.
