Dalton to provide more funding for East Wayne Fire District

Council members in Dalton have approved a motion that calls for the village to provide additional funding for the East Wayne Fire District.  Under the terms of the deal, the village would pay up to $49,000 a year for fire and emergency medical staffing at the district’s Station 1 in an effort to decrease response times.  Staffing times and levels will be left up to the discretion of the district’s fire chief.
