Convicted serial killer Shawn Grate has been appointed a new attorney that plans to file an application to reopen his death penalty case.  Grate was convicted of murdering at least five women in three counties.  His death sentence has been upheld twice by the Ohio Supreme Court.  His new attorney is arguing that Grate’s trial lawyers were ineffective.  In the latest motion that was filed last month, it said the application to reopen Grate’s case will be filed with the courts by March 30.
