Police in Ashland responded to a situation yesterday afternoon that turned out to be a hoax. Officers were called out to a home in the 400 block of Ohio Street from someone claiming that his dad shot his mom with a rifle in the family’s living room. The caller eventually admitted, while talking to officers on the phone, that it was all a lie and then hung up. In the end, the home turned out to be vacant. Police are now trying to identify and track down the person who made the bogus call.
