2024 April Events & Programs – Holmes County District Public Library

 Enter our Creative Writing Contest! Share your original poetry or short stories (with or without illustrations) by entering the Holmes County District Public Library’s Writing Contest! Prizes will be awarded to the top entry in each category. Submissions are due by Saturday, April 20th. Visit the library, the library’s website, or call 330-674-5972 for details.

Storytimes @ the East Branch – Wednesdays @ 10:30am, April 3rd, 10th, 17th, & 24th. Kids ages 2-5, with and adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs, & rhymes!

 Storytimes @ the Central Library – Fridays @ 10:30am. April 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th.  Kids ages 2-5, with and adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs, & rhymes!

 Little Learners Playgroup @ the Central Library – Fridays from 11am, April 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th. Kids up to age 5, with an adult, will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills. Snacks will be provided.

 Family Movie Day @ the Central Library – Saturday, April 6th @ 11am. Join us for a showing of the animated adventure Migration – rated PG.

 Youth Craft Night @ the Central Library – Tuesday, April 9th @ 5:30pm. Youth ages 10-15 will create a wind chime using shells, beads, and wood. Registration is required.

 “Let’s Do Brunch!” @ the Central Library – Thursday, April 11th @ 6pm. Whether it’s a lazy Saturday morning with your beau or a get-together with your besties, brunch brings together the best of breakfast and lunch.  Join Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension Educator, as she prepares a few brunch recipes.  Registration is required. 

 Paws to Read @ the Central Library – Saturday, April 13th from 11am-12pm. Kids are invited to read to a certified therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.

 Bluey Wackadoo Day! @ the Central Library – Saturday, April 20th @ 10am. Kids are invited to enjoy all things “Bluey” with games, crafts and more! Registration is required.

 Kite Making @ the Central Library – Thursday, April 25th @ 5:30pm. Youth ages 6-12 will construct and decorate their own kite. Some may need adult assistance with the activity. Registration is required.

 Book Discussion for Adults – Tuesday, April 30th @ 1pm @ the Central Library – discussing “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride, & @ 6pm –Jitters Coffee House – discussing “Ink Blood Sister Scribe”, by Emma Torz.
