Celebrate by stopping at the Central Library or East Branch to fill out a ticket for a chance to win a prize! We’re drawing weekly, so remember to enter each time you visit the library, throughout October!
Smokey Bear Reading Challenge – Tuesday, October 1st through Saturday, November 16th @ the Central Library and East Branch.
Ages 4 -12 are invited to read and complete activities to earn a certificate and a book. Registration is required.
Medicare 101 & Changes in 2025 – Tuesday, October 1st @ 5:30pm @ the Central Library.
Bridget Hatcher of SSIP Insurance Partners will share the importance of reviewing your plan this year and offer an overview of Medicare changes in 2025. Registration is required.
Storytime @ the East Branch – Wednesdays @ 10:30am, October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, & 30th.
Ages 2-5, with an adult, are invited to join us for stories and activities.
The Quest for Bigfoot – Thursday, October 3rd @ 6 pm @ the Central Library
Families with school-age kids will join Amy Bue, the cofounder of Project Zoobook, and a teacher, as she speaks about her experiences as a Bigfoot researcher. She will also share stories, explain her field research equipment, and how she loves a good mystery! Registration is required.

Kids ages 2-5, with an adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs, and rhymes!
Little Learners Playgroup @ the Central Library – Fridays @ 11:00 am. October 4th, 11th, & 18th.
Kids up to age 5, with an adult, will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills. Snacks will be provided.
mikeroweWORKS Foundation Program – on Mondays @ 5:30pm, October 7th, November 4th, December 2nd, and January 6th @ the Central Library.
Ella Lorentz, OSU Extension Services Educator will present the 1st session of this 4-session workshop for high school students. Registration is required.
Book Quest Club – Boo-tastic Reads! – Tuesday, October 8th @ 5:30pm @ the Central Library.
Families with kids ages 6 – 12 are invited to explore a variety of books to find your next spooky (or not so spooky) read, and make a Halloween-themed bookmark. Registration is required.
Paws to Read – Smokey Bear Celebration – Saturday, October 12th from 11am – 12pm @ the Central Library.
Families are invited to visit the Children’s Department for a special celebration in honor of Smokey the Bear’s 80th birthday and read to a furry friend from Caring Therapy Canines.
Muffin Mania! – Tuesday, October 15th @ 6pm @ the Central Library
So. Many. Muffins. Sweet or savory, muffins can be a main dish or a treat. Join Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension Services Educator, as she shares proper muffin technique, and taste a variety of recipes. Registration is required.
Family Movie Matinee – Saturday, October 19th @ 11 am @ the Central Library.
We’re showing the Disney/Pixar animated movie Inside Out 2, rated PG. “Everything changes for Riley when a new Emotion is introduced: Anxiety!” Bring a comfy chair or blanket, snacks, and a drink, and enjoy the show. Children must be with an adult.

Join us as this author and businesswoman shares her inspiring life story and cookbook journey. Registration is required.
The Friends of the Library are hosting their Fall Book Sale! – Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th @ the Central Library.
Plan to stop in at the Central Library’s meeting room during regular business hours to shop a selection of gently used books and materials. If you are a member of the Friends, or would like to become one, there is a “Member’s Only” preview on Thursday, October 24th from 5pm-7pm. Prices will be posted at the sale.

Families with kids up to age 12 are invited to join us for some trick or treat fun! Visit the storywalk and read “Creepy Pair of Underwear” and receive some treats! Then join us in the library for a short cartoon feature and some spooky games. Registration is required.
