Blessing of the Animals Service

The Blessing of the Animals Service: October 5 at 10:00 a.m. in our Smithville UMC, 243 N. Milton St. Smithville, OH 44677, Parking Lot, the community is invited to bring their animals to be blessed. This service is a way of giving thanks for all the joy and comfort that our animals give to us. This service was begun in honor of St. Francis of Assisi who is the patron saint of animals. During the service all the animals will receive a personal blessing. All animals need to be in cages, carriers, on a leash or halter. All animals are welcome unless they slither. Due to your minister’s lack of appreciation of snakes, please leave all snakes at home!
