Enter our Creative Writing Contest, beginning March 1st! Share your original poetry or short stories (with or without illustrations) by entering the Holmes County District Public Library’s Writing Contest! Prizes will be awarded to the top entry in each category and submissions are due by Saturday, April 20th. Visit the library, the library’s website or call 330-674-5972 for details.
Storytimes @ the Central Library – Fridays @ 10:30am, March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th. Kids ages 2-5 with an adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs, & rhymes!
Little Learners Playgroup @ the Central Library – Fridays @ 11am, March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th. Kids up to age 5 with an adult, will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills. Snacks will be provided.
Storytimes @ the Killbuck Community Library – Tuesdays @ 10:30am, March 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th. Kids ages 2-5 with an adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs, & rhymes!
Storytimes @ the East Branch – Wednesdays @ 10:30am, March 6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th. Kids ages 2-5 with an adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs, & rhymes!
Paws to Read @ the Central Library – Saturday, March 9th, from 11am–12pm. Kids are invited to read to a certified therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.
Personal Finance 101 with financial advisor Shelby Byland @ the Central Library, Monday, March 11th @ 6pm. Shelby will answer questions and share strategies to get you started in reaching your financial goals. Registration is required.
STEAM Program @ the Central Library, Tuesday, March 12th @ 5:30 pm. Ages 10-15 will create a maze for their Hexbugs to maneuver through, and use Hexbug-bugbots to create art! Registration is required.
Eclipse Quest @ the Central Library, Thursday, March 14th @ 5:30 pm. Ages 6-12 will learn about the upcoming total solar eclipse through hands-on activities. Registration is required.
Solar Eclipse Presentation @ the Central Library, Tuesday, March 19th @ 6pm. The Warren Rupp Observatory will offer a presentation on the upcoming solar eclipse, and 1 pair of eclipse glasses will be provided to each person in attendance. Registration is required.
Family Movie Day @ the Central Library, Saturday, March 23rd @ 11am. Join us for Disney’s “Wish”, rated PG, being shown on the big screen!
Book Discussion for Adults – Tuesday, March 26th @ 1pm @ the Central Library – discussing “Canary Girls” by Jennifer Chiaverini, and @ 6pm-@ Jitters Coffee House – discussing “Sisters under the Rising Sun” by Heather Morris. Books are available to borrow at the Central Library.
Picture Book Putt-Putt @ the Central Library, Thursday, March 28th from 10am-7pm. Families will enjoy a 9-hole mini-golf course based on some favorite children’s books, with the first T-off time at 10 am and the last at 6:15 pm. Registration is required.
