Indian Trails of Wayne and Holmes County
The County Line Historical Society of Wayne/Holmes will be hosting their second of five programs that are presented annually, free of charge and open to the public.Robert Haag of Doylestown, will be our keynote speaker. Speaking on the topic of “Indian Trails of Wayne and Holmes County”. These include historic Delaware Indian trails including portions of Crawford’s Trail from Holmesville to O’Dells Lake and beyond to Sandusky, route 39 to Loundonville, the Great Trail through Wooster, buffalo trails and Buffalo Ridge. Mr. Haag received a BS in education from the University of Akron and a M.Ed. from Ohio University and has been a member of the Archaeological Society of Ohio for over 40 years serving as a Trustee for the organization in addition to writing numerous articles for “Ohio Archaeologist” quarterly. Over the last 15 years he published “Footpaths to Ancient Campsites in Copley Township Ohio” and a three-volume set containing compilations of Ohio’s prehistoric artifact auctions from 1972-1992. A collector of prehistoric relics since childhood, he is an authority on many types of Ohio’s prehistoric relics. He will have his books for sale and others on display.
