Meet the Candidates Night April 12

WOOSTER, Ohio- The Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce and the Wayne Economic Development Council will host a Meet the Candidates Night to provide the business community an opportunity to meet and learn about the mayoral and city council candidates’ positions and planned direction for Wooster. It will be held on April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church (621 College Avenue) ahead of the May 2 primary election.

The evening will include a panel discussion with questions from a moderator and an open time for questions from the audience. It is open to the public to attend. Mayoral candidates Mike Buytendyk and Bob Reynolds will take the stage, alongside President of City Council Candidate Craig Sanders, City Council At Large Candidates Michael F. Abernathy Jr. and Bill Bostancic, and Ward 3 City Council Candidate Chris Malta.

This year marks the first time in over a decade that a new mayor will take over in the City of Wooster, after four terms served by Current Mayor Bob Breneman, who did not file for re-election. The primary election will determine which candidate wins the Republican nomination. No petition has been filed for the Democratic nomination.
