Rotary brings together leaders who step up to take on the toughest challenges, locally and globally. The Millersburg Rotary Club is no exception. All proceeds from this event will support two worthy projects.
Pure Gift of God was created when a small group of people were having a tough time traversing the adoption process. They didn’t have an easy-to-find and easy-to-use collection of resources to help along the journey — so they decided to become an organization dedicated to making the process easier to navigate. They help families looking to adopt get started, provide financial grants, offer community and support, and provide resources for post-adoptive care.
Rotary International has been the leader in working to eradicate polio around the world. Since 1985 when Rotary made eradicating polio a top priority, Rotary has spent $2.1 billion and polio has been 99.9 percent eliminated, only remaining endemic in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Experts say if we choose to control polio rather than eradicate it, more than 10 million children under the age of five could be paralyzed by the disease in the next 40 years.
Running benefits the mind and body. By participating in this race, you’ll also help ensure millions around the world never lose their ability to run due to polio. Locally, you’ll help connect families with needed resources when expanding their families through adoption.
