Norwayne FFA 15th Annual Benefit
The Norwayne FFA is hosting its 15th Annual Benefit for Chuck Steiner
who has stage four Kidney Cancer. The FFA Organization prides itself in its
ability of “Living to Serve”, and because of Mr. Steiner’s commitments to
Norwayne in the past, the FFA wants to give back to him during this time.
Mr. Steiner has been teaching at Norwayne High School for 33 years.
At the end of May an MRI revealed a tumor in his left arm at the radial head;
which was initially suspected to be benign. On June 12, he underwent
reconstructive surgery to remove and biopsy the tumor, which resulted in a
metastatic clear cell renal carcinoma.
After receiving radiation on his arm in July and removing his kidney in
August, Mr. Steiner officially began a year’s worth of immunotherapy to
eliminate any small traces of cancer remaining in his body. While it has been
a challenging journey, Chuck feels grateful for the support of many friends,
the school, and the community, and is thankful to have God by his side every
step of the way.
Mr. Steiner has been a great support to Norwayne and its community. On December 6th, at Norwayne High School, there will be a meal, silent auction, and live auction. All money raised will go to support Mr. Steiner. All are welcome!
