Ohio’s Role on the Underground Railroad
Wednesday, April 21 – 6:30 PM
With 664 miles of the Ohio River separating free soil from slave soil, the area provided the greatest opportunity for slave escapes. Author Nancy Stearns Theiss will discuss Ohio’s role in the Underground Railroad movement, which is the subject of her new book A TOUR ON THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD ALONG THE OHIO RIVER (The History Press, 2020). This lecture and conversation will be held via Zoom meeting.
Ohio Book Talks is a new series of author-led discussions of new books covering different periods in Ohio history. Programs are presented by Buckeye Book Fair with the support of Ohio Humanities.
